BCCOA Lawn Chore ProgramOutdoor chores can sometimes be overwhelming for seniors and those who have limited mobility. Some residents need support for large jobs like mowing their lawn.

The Lawn Chore program is offered to seniors (age 60 years of age and older) and full-time residents of Benzie County with physical limitations. The Lawn Chore program provides outdoor maintenance intended to increase the safety of individuals living in their own home. This service is provided by an independent contractor and operates from May through September providing up to eight (8) mows.

Lawn Chore Services include:

  • Lawn Mowing – no hauling of yard waste – the maximum lot size for mowing is 150’ x 150’.  Anything larger than this will need to be arranged between you and your assigned contractor.
  • Raking – no hauling of yard waste.
  • Blowing and Sweeping
  • Trimming

Charges for these services are determined using a sliding fee scale based on your household income.

Please call 231-525-0600 for more information on the Lawn Chore Program or complete a Referral Form and mail to BSR.

My yard never looked so good! She did an excellent job.

I can’t express enough how much having someone whom I can afford and whom I can rely on to regularly mow my lawn has improved the quality of my summers, my life.

Simplifying my life, one less thing to worry about and being able to totally trust the work that she does.

Lawn looked very nice, always took the time to talk with me, always asked how I was doing.
